The Orvis Company Announces Its First Florida Store in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin

The 10,300 square-foot store will offer the world's finest fly fishing equipment.

The Orvis Company, one of the country’s most well-known and respected sports and leisure lifestyle retailers, has announced its first Florida location will open in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin® this spring. The 10,300 square-foot store offers the world’s finest fly fishing equipment, men’s and women’s clothing and gifts for the home as well as its famed dog beds and other pet supplies.

“This is our first venture into the Florida market. The location within a resort tourist community is a unique situation for Orvis,” says George Haskins, Director of Retail for Orvis.

The quality shopping experience will be similar to other Orvis stores, although the look of the store will be accented with Florida-inspired interiors through color and materials. In keeping with the design throughout Grand Boulevard, the exterior will be stucco and enhanced by some of the Orvis heavy timber elements as well as their colorful iconic jumping trout. The entry foyer will be reminiscent of a New England “mud room” but with a Florida twist. There will also be a large fireplace.

Haskins says the new store is designed to give the customers a feeling of adventure and will offer the complete “Orvis Distinctive Country Lifestyle” experience from clothing and sporting equipment, to luggage and adventure travel opportunity.   The company is dedicated to quality, service and products steeped in authenticity, appealing to the discerning customer. They also provide full guarantees on their goods.

Instructional classes in fly fishing and fly tying can be scheduled for the Orvis Fly Fishing School, which is offered throughout the year in various cities all over the country. In addition, adventure travel trips can be planned and booked within the Orvis network of endorsed lodges and guides, part of the company’s international travel division.
