Chris Lewis, DJ Dan, Derek Rust, and crew spent their winter fly fishing South Florida for redfish, sheepshead, bonefish and permit in shallow waters. These guys get genuinely pumped when they land a nice fish, which is refreshing to see in today’s “been there, done that” fishing scene. Most surprising of all may be the sheepshead catches. These tasty drum usually eat clams, barnacles and oysters, though they will eat shrimp and crabs occasionally. Catching them on an artificial is tough, and a fly even tougher. –Ed.
