RIO released a new tippet material that serious saltwater fly-fishermen will appreciate. The Alloy Hard Saltwater tippet is ultra-hard, combining terrific abrasion resistance with sturdy rigidity that is ideal for casting large flies into a strong wind. This ensures reliable leader turnover and presentations, and while the material is quite stiff, it is not overly difficult to knot. Available in 30-yard spools between 6- and 30-pound-test, the new material is also offered in 110-yard guide spools in 12-, 16- and 20-pound-test. MSRP is $4.95 per standard spool and $12.95 per guide spool. www.rioproducts.com
