Exuma Bonefish Guides Association Adds Online Booking Service

The Exuma Bonefish Guides Association (EBGA) has launched an Internet site, www.ExumaBonefish.com for easy booking of Exuma, Bahamas-based fishing charters and accommodations.

Bonefish anglers now have an attractive and easy-to-book alternative to pricey fishing lodges. By using the EBGA’s U.S.-based booking service, anglers may select accommodations on Exuma that match their taste and budget. Services range from viewing potential accommodations on the association’s Web site, www.ExumaBonefish.com, to complete custom package service arranged at The Cays, a new development near George Town, Exuma. The Cays is comprised of new three-bedroom homes and specializes in catering to anglers.

“The most skilled bonefish guides in Exuma have joined together to set the highest standards of professionalism for Exuma Bonefish Guides Association,” said Alan “J.J.” Dames, president of EBGA and a two-time Bahamas Bonefish Champion. “Exuma’s Bonefish Guides are very conservation minded, with a strict catch and release policy,” Dames added, “but our main goal is to ensure that clients have a memorable fishing experience around our beautiful islands, while preserving fish stocks and the pristine bonefish flats.”

EBGA guide rates are $295 per day for up to two anglers, with anglers supplying all their own equipment. A handy packing checklist is provided along with other tips for travel on www.ExumaBonefish.com. “Whether you prefer to fish with fly or spinning tackle, are a novice or an accomplished bonefish angler, your guide will work diligently to provide you with the best experience possible,” said Angie Chestnut, director of the EBGA’s U.S.-based booking service. “The personal attention and service is so special, clients are often ready to book their next excursion halfway through their first trip.”

Guides meet with clients the night before their fishing trip to get to know each other and make plans for the upcoming day. In the morning, guides pick up clients at their hotel or villa and return them to their accommodations at the end of the day. Delicious box lunches are available for order through the guides. Airport transfers may be arranged as well through the EBGA’s booking service.

Unlike most Bahamian Out-Islands, direct flights are available to George Town, Exuma from Miami via American Airlines. The non-stop flights take away many of the hassles of travel.
