Castnet Weights

Castnet Weights

Marcus Parker

Here’s a good way to recycle an old cast net and score a lot of weights to use in the surf, and all you need is a pair of scissors.

I cut the weights off the net and use them to construct slip-weight rigs, using a bead to prevent the weight from slipping over the swivel.

I’ve found that the recycled weights actually roll less in the current compared with the standard egg sinkers, keeping your bait in the strike zone longer.
