Sage’s New 3000 Series

You already know the quality and reputation that Sage has established for its rods. Now imagine the same commitment to quality poured into a reel. That’s exactly what the company did when it recently introduced its new 3000 Series drag reels.
These new, ultrasmooth drag reels are incredibly light, and the large-arbor design offers a high line recovery rate. They feature a totally sealed graphite disk drag system to keep out water, dirt and grime. The drag also comes with an adjustable, numbered drag knob so you can establish and relocate specific drag settings easily.
The new 3000 series consists of three models, the 5/6-weight 3300D, the 7/8-weight 3400D and 9/10-weight 3500D. The reels range in weight from 6 to 9 ounces and measure from 3 5/8 inches to 4 1/4 inches in diameter. The 3400D holds up to 200 yards of 20-pound backing and a 7-weight line, while the 3500D holds up to 225 yards of 30-pound backing with a 9-weight line. The reels retail for between $450 and $550; extra spools range from $180 to $220.
