Islander Creates New LX Series

In a never-ending quest to refine its reels further, the company took its reels best features and improved upon them to create the new LX series.

For years ISLANDER has been well known for its exceptional drag systems and meticulous craftsmanship. In a never-ending quest to refine its reels further, the company took its reels’ best features and improved upon them to create the new LX series.
The LX series features the famed Islander drag placed into an extremely lightweight large-arbor spool and frame. The open-face spool construction features a ventilated arbor to help maintain the reel’s light weight and a generously exposed, sculptured palming rim for extra drag control. The drag consists of a simple graphite-impregnated cork system mounted on the frame side of the reel. Additional features include a titanium outgoing clicker, simple right- to left-handed conversion and a Cocobolo wood handle.
The LX series includes five reels ranging from the 6/7-weight LX 3.4 up to the 11/13-weight LX 4.5. The LX 4.5 weighs less than 10 ounces and also holds up to 300 yards of 30-pound backing. The LX reels are available in either black or gold, and the suggested retail prices range from $450 to $630.
