MotorGuide’s new Great White Excel is a servo-positioning, electric-steer, bow-mount trolling motor designed for rugged salt water use. The Excel is steered via a foot pedal, but uses an electric cable instead of a traditional mechanical cable. Reduced pedal torque means greater comfort over long periods of time. The Excel’s servo-positioning technology allows the lower unit to react quickly and precisely to slight foot movements. Also, the lower unit will not wander if the pedal is left unattended. With the optional 16′ extension cable, the unit can be operated from other parts of the boat. The Great White Excel is available in a 24-volt version that delivers 82 pounds of thrust. Available shaft lengths are 42″, 50″ and 60″, and suggested retail prices start at $1,000. MotorGuide, Tulsa, OK; (918) 446-1461. www.motorguide.com.
