Garmin has expanded its Etrex line of 12-parallel-channel GPS receivers with the Venture, Legend and Vista. The new members of the line feature a rocker switch on the front for easy panning and function selection, and their displays have improved resolution. These models have a range of internal memory, from one megabyte for the Venture to 24 megabytes for the Vista, and accept data from Garmin”¿s MapSource CD-ROMs. The Etrex models can be loaded with marine data such as buoys, wrecks and obstructions. They are just 4″ high, weigh 5.3 oz. and use the same waterproof cases of the other Etrex units, but in model-specific colors. Suggested retail prices range from $194.27 to $374.99.
