When you think of Sperry Top-Siders, you probably picture a classic leather boat shoe, not one that’s worn by U.S. Navy SEALs on covert ops. It’s clear that Sperry has branched out over the last 70 years.
Its new Figawi Surge is made to withstand the rigors of the saltwater world. Because it’s totally amphibious and fast-drying, it’s excellent for wading, kayaking or boating. It features a molded-rubber mudguard with drainage ports for durability and versatility; a contoured EVA midsole for comfort and stability; nonmarking Super-Track rubber outsoles with Quadro-Grip Wave siping for good traction; stretch air mesh for a better fit and increased breathability; and an Aegis Microbe Shield to kill odor-causing bacteria. Constructed from absorption-resistant materials and waterproof leather, this footwear will survive just about anything. The only modification the SEALs requested was to make them black.
