Developed for the flat-wing tier, Whiting Farms’ new saddle hackles should prove ideal for tying big sea-run striper patterns.

Averaging 8 to 14 inches long, they feature a nice taper and a web band in the middle of the feather, which provides a platform for the placement of several dyed colors. Offered in grizzly, white and badger, as well as naturals such as cream, brown and golden badger, Whiting Farms also bleaches the grizzly and badger for further customization. Outside of bass, these saddle hackles have been used effectively for sea trout and sailfish.

MSRP is $20 (bronze grade) or $35(silver grade). www.whitingfarms.com
