SWS Senior Editor George Poveromo recently landed a 143-pound, three-ounce wahoo, off San Salvador, Bahamas. The huge wahoo measured six feet, six inches in length, and had a girth of 36 inches. The fish ate a 32-ounce, blue-and-white Bluewater Eagle wahoo lure. Poveromo was shooting an episode for the 2004 season of his ESPN2 show, "George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing," and was fishing with Ray McConnell of Ray's Offshore Tackle in Boca Raton, Florida. The two were guests aboard Don Strom's 58-foot Striker, Foxy Lady II, captained by George Gardner. For more information on the catch, check out www.georgepoveromo.com.
