Getting one-on-one instruction

Q: “I’ve been to a fly-fishing school, and I’ve taken lessons from several different instructors. My casting is OK, but I’d like it to get better. Do you or Mr. Ed Jaworowski ever give lessons?”

Brian,
via e-mail

A: Most schools and instructors teach to use only the arm when casting — no other sport uses just the arm, and when you cast this way, the length of the stroke is often shortened. Ed Jaworowski and I teach people to use the body and lengthen the stroke for most casts in salt water. I rarely have time to teach, but Ed often does. His e-mail is edjaworowski@verizon.net.
