Umpqua has decided to take the guesswork out of choosing flies for your intended destination or quarry so you can worry about other details, like remembering your plane tickets.

When planning a trip to a new location, it¿’ tough enough to find exactly where to fish, let alone choose the right flies to fish with. UMPQUA has decided to take the guesswork out of choosing flies for your intended destination or quarry so you can worry about other details, like remembering your plane tickets. Umpqua¿’ new species/location-specific fly selections truly make life easier. Headed to Christmas Island? Just take the Christmas Island Selection containing 63 flies in every color and pattern for every species normally fished there. And you can do the same for the Keys, the Yucatáa, or for bonefish or permit.
These selections come packed in a box constructed of New Zealand hardwood with foam inserts and magnetic closures, turning your fly selection into a showpiece. Larger kits, like the tarpon and striper/bluefish selections, are packaged in large plastic boxes. Each selection includes a number (from 18 up to 63) of the best-selling and most effective patterns for a given location or species.
Saltwater selections include those for the Bahamas, Belize/Yucatáa, Christmas Island, Everglades, Keys, and for bonefish, permit, redfish/seatrout, striped bass and tarpon. Prices range from $85 to $175. For more information, contact Umpqua Feather Merchants, PO Box 700, Glide, OR 97443; 800-322-3218.
