The new Stu Apte Signature Series of rods evolved from a collaboration with the craftsmen at Diamondback and Stu Apte¿’ years of accumulated knowledge. These exclusive designs show the dedication of years of fly-fishing experience combined with the latest technology, creating outstanding rods designed to deliver tremendous performance in any fishing situation.
The heavier saltwater Stu Apte rods have titanium-carbide stripping guides with silicon-carbide inserts, oversized titanium-carbide snake guides and a large-looped tiptop. In addition, these rods feature high-modulus DGS 900 graphite and a Power Braid system covered with bidirectional fiberglass, all finished with a brilliant blue gloss. The half-well grip is Flor+ grade cork, and the reel seat is 6061T6 aluminum. These rods were designed to be fast and accurate, yet still provide the power you need to fight a fish.
The Stu Apte Series is available in 9-foot, 7- to 13-weight, three-piece rods weighing between 4.3 and 6.3 ounces. These rods retail for $445 to $485. A bag and rod tube are included, and each rod is unconditionally guaranteed.
