Sony's U-ceiver ICB-U655 provides clear, quiet, instant communication.

With today’s modern technology, it’s easy to contact just about anyone anywhere. In some situations, however, communicating when you’re away from the rest of the world can be tricky. Sony Electronics has developed a small lightweight personal two-way radio for just these situations.
The U-ceiver ICB-U655 provides clear, quiet, instant communication. The small size and weight (4 inches high and less than 8 ounces, including batteries) allow for easy storage in almost any pocket. It can also clip on to a belt, shorts or any strap, making it easy to keep handy in almost any circumstance. The unit offers a two-mile range with 14 channels and 38 privacy codes per channel. That’s over 500 independent communication links. A scan feature also allows you to automatically find an open channel.
A backlit LCD screen displays easy-to-read icons and features a battery-power indicator. Three AA batteries power the unit, which also has an auto power-off, battery-saving feature with an audible alert. And most important, the units are water-resistant. They come in either gray or yellow at a suggested retail price of $129.95. A combination speaker/microphone is also available for $39.95.
