Simms’ Freestone Travel Waders

The new ultralight Freestone Travel Waders provide Simms quality at an affordable price.

While every fly-fisherman knows the value of a good pair of waders, nobody has ever created a decent one that you can travel with easily. They all seem to weigh a ton and take up more room than the kitchen sink we usually drag along. Simms, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of waders, finally developed an honest travel wader that offers everything its heavier counterparts do – except the weight.

The new ultralight Freestone Travel Waders provide Simms quality at an affordable price. Like all the company’s waders, these feature four-layer QuadraLam? fabric technology, which quickly absorbs perspiration and moves it away from your body. Waterproof yet breathable, they are constructed with a tough 100-percent polyester outer fabric and have fully taped seams with cross-stitched patches at seam intersections for additional reinforcement. The fully adjustable 1-inch-wide suspenders easily convert to a belt if you want to change from chest- to waist-high protection. They come standard with Simms Blackfoot 3-mm high-density neoprene stocking feet with anatomically correct left/right foot design. Simms builds all its waders to accommodate layering for colder temperatures for increased versatility, and they store easily in a microstuff sack. The Freestone Travel Wader comes in a light granite color and in 10 stock sizes and retails for $129.95.
