Wading flats presents a never-ending dilemma: how to carry all the gear you’ll need for the day without overloading yourself. ORVIS may not be able to help you limit your gear, but it does provide a convenient place to put it all. Orvis¿’new innovative Angler¿’ Waist Pack allows an angler to carry everything needed for a day on the flats, including an extra rod.
Made from Nailhead rip-stop nylon fabric and designed for complete modularity and portability, this pack can carry extra fly boxes, water bottles, cameras, tools and more. The durable Nailhead can easily withstand the uses and abuses encountered when fishing and traveling.
The Waist Pack features a large rear main compartment accessible from both ends with hook-and-loop flaps. One end stores two saltwater fly boxes, and the other end features a small pouch to hold extra accessories. An adjustable top flap covers a sheath for an extra rod either rigged or broken down. Additionally, two detachable side pockets designed for smaller fly boxes, tools, tippet spools or a camera also function as individual mini packs.
The Waist Pack comes with an adjustable waist belt, two fly boxes and removable internal pouch and retails for $79. For more information, contact Orvis, Historic Route 7A, Manchester, VT 05254; 802-362-8595.
