Plantation on Crystal River will host the 2013 Florida Fly Fishing Expo, along with the Florida Council of the International Federation of Fly Fishers (IFFF) and the Tarpon Coast Fly Fishers. Featuring the Southeast’s top fly-casting instructors and expert fly tiers, the fourth annual expo is a chance to learn about the unique and varied fly fishing opportunities in Florida and the region.
The 2013 Florida Fly Fishing Expo will include clinics, workshops and programs from top fly-fishing experts, writers, authors, fly-casting instructors, charter captains, and fly tiers. Chico Fernandez, Flip Pallot, Jon Cave, Dave Johnson, Joe Mahler, Dave Olson, Capt. Mel Simpson, Oscar Feliu, Craig Smothers, Capt. Pete Greenan, Capt. Rick Grassett, Hugh ‘Unk’ Smith, Drew Chicone, and dozens of others will be on hand. Admission is $10 for the two-day expo. Children under 16 attend free with an adult.

The 2013 Florida Fly Fishing Expo will take place on the grounds of Plantation on Crystal River, located just 80 miles north of Tampa on Florida’s Nature Coast at 9301 W. Fort Island Trail in Crystal River, Florida. The eco-friendly Plantation is surrounded by the natural springs of King’s Bay and pristine lakes and rivers, as well as wildlife refuges and state parks.
