MDX Industries may have solved that problem for us with the introduction of their new Cell Safe DX4 storage unit. This handy case is an all-conditions cell phone and GPS storage safe. Made from an almost indestructible polycarbonate plastic, it’s designed to be watertight and impact-resistant to protect almost any small electronic device, including cell phones, GPS units and pagers. It even floats.
Items are secured within the foam-padded vault with a Velcro safety strap and remain visible through the clear top panel; ringing cell phones can be heard even when locked in the safe. There is also room for keys, cash, credit cards or other small valuables.
The inside dimensions are 7.5 by 2.5 inches, and the unit weighs 6.5 ounces. It is available in black or yellow and has a suggested retail price of $29.95.
