Loop Tackle

With the introduction of their new Evotec LW, Loop kept the benefits of the Evotec and took away the weight.

About 15 years ago, Loop was one of the first companies to make large- arbor reels. Last year they introduced their Evotec reel and its completely waterproof sealed disc-drag and bearing system with an infinitely adjustable drag that was ideally suited for larger saltwater fish. With the introduction of their new Evotec LW, Loop kept the benefits of the Evotec and took away the weight. Made from anodized aluminum with a carbon composite drag, this reel is as slick as it looks, and Loop seriously lightened it up – the largest model, the 8eleven is only 6.7 ounces, almost five ounces lighter than its Evotec counterpart.
The Evotec LW is available in three models, all perfect for saltwater use, including the 4seven for 4- to 7-weight lines, the 6nine for 6- to 10-weight lines and the 8eleven rated for 8- to 11-weight lines. The reels retail for $470 to $495. For more information, contact Loop Tackle USA, 2991 Denn Ave., Roseburg, OR 97470; 541-673-9810.
