IGFA Certified Observer Training available in Florida

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) will hold aCertified Obersever Program on Wednesday, October 29, 2003, at theIGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum in Dania Beach, Florida, totrain and certify experienced anglers, boat captains andcrewmembers as observers for fishing tournaments.

The applications must be completed, mailed or faxed(954-924-4220) to IGFA accompanied with the $125 fee (payable toIGFA) not later than October 22, 2003. This fee covers the cost ofthe training class, an Observer’s handbook with speciesidentification video, lunch and a one-year membership in IGFA.

The one-day training program will begin promptly at 8:30 am withinstructors covering the following topics: Species Identification,IGFA Saltwater Fishing Rules & Regulations, and Safety at SeaBoating Etiquette.

At the conclusion of the instruction there will be a writtenexam, which takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Attendees will benotified of their certification by IGFA within a week of the class.Should any candidate fail the exam, there will be futureopportunities to retake the exam at no additional cost.
