Wrap the leader six times up and around both strands of the double line and bring the tag end back to the beginning of the knot.Joe Mahler/joemahler.com
Pass the tag end under the line on your finger, under the first turn over the doubled-line loop. Wet the line and pull on the standing part of the leader and the double line. Trim the tag end, which should protrude at a 90-degree angle.Joe Mahler/joemahler.com
In the alternative finish, simply pull the tag end of the leader back through the end of the doubled section of the standing line, in the opposite direction you first entered it. Wet it and pull it tight as before, but this time, the tag end will lay parallel to the leader after trimming.Joe Mahler/joemahler.com
