Standard calls the HX260S the least expensive submersible handheld VHF on the market. It comes in a high-impact, non-corrosive case with waterproof gasketing and PCBs protected by a HumiSeal moisture barrier. It also exceeds J.I.S. standards for remaining waterproof to 3 feet for 30 minutes.

The LCD and keypad are both backlit, and the display screen features tall, wide digits that are easy to see. It receives all U.S., international, and Canadian channels, and has dedicated 1-button access to weather and channels 9/16. User-programmable scanning lets you scan any number or combination of channels, and Dual Watch lets you monitor channel 16 plus an additional channel.
