The Chart Master series of GPS/ chart plotters from Interphase Technologies combines a 12-channel, WAAS- capable GPS receiver with vector-based electronic cartography. According to Interphase, the three models in the series-the Chart Master 11MX, 11CVX and 11CVXS-all use the same microprocessor to provide fast, accurate position fixes while allowing for quick zooms for greater detail. The 11MX uses a monochrome LCD display that is sunlight-viewable and backlit for nighttime use. The 11CVX has a 10.4″ active-matrix color LCD for use in enclosed cockpits or under hardtops, while the 11CVXS has a sunlight-viewable color display. All three units have enough memory to store up to 1,000 waypoints, 25 routes and more than 5,000 track points. The Chart Master series is designed to be integrated into a full bridge system and can be connected to other units through two serial ports. The color-display models can also accept video input. The models in this series are equipped to accept two C-MAP NT C-cards and, according to the manufacturer, are simple to operate. Models in the Chart Master series range in price from $1,599 to $3,399. Interphase Technologies, Soquel, CA; (831) 477- 4944; www.interphase-tech.com.
