Ralph Delph
In 1973 he left his job as a structural engineer and began guiding in Key West, where he was Outstanding Guide in the MET for 20 consecutive years. He was the first captain to guide more than 100 of his clients to IGFA world record catches. He currently has a lifetime tally of 291 records. At wreck, reef, bluewater, flats and inshore fishing he is a master. He developed tackle and techniques for fighting giant bluefin tuna on stand up gear and has worked with tackle, boat and motor manufacturers on developments that are today taken for granted in sportfishing. He is still pursuing record fish for his clients, with his sons, Capt. Rob Delph and Capt. Billy Delph continuing to advance the sport and share his expertise. delphfishing.com
