We headed out Saturday in search of the low incoming tide to target tailing reds on fly. As the tide started to move we focused on an area that I knew was holding large numbers of tailing reds…
Pine Island Reds
As we approached we saw too many tails to pole to so we opted to wade. My buddy hooked one fish that took him to deeper water and as I watched an eruption happened: a shark grabbed his red and with the force snapped his Loomis 8-weight like a twig!
Luckily we were going to target big black drum tailing so Rich had a 10-weight stowed on the skiff. Besides that, it was an epic day on fly! – Ryan BrandtSee more local fishing reports in our Guides and Charters directory: http://www.saltwatersportsman.com/destinations.jsp
