Step 1: Once in the final stage, a crab's actual peel takes just three hours. To rig a peeler, first tear off its soft top shell. Flip it over and gently tear off the apron.

Step 2: With a knife or sheers, cut it directly down the middle into two halves. Get the biggest peelers you can find and cut them in half, rather than quarters.

Step 3: Remove the legs at the knuckle joints and thread a 3/0 or 4/0 "bleeding"¿ circle hook in through one leg socket and out through another.
