Founded in 2018, the build team at Caymas Boats is led by bass boat pioneer and NMMA Hall of Famer Earl Bentz, who before launching Caymas founded the noted bass boat brands Stratos, Javelin and Triton. He also raced boats successfully at the national level for eight years.
Caymas’s Saltwater Division was founded with a commitment to build an uncompromising fiberglass fishing boat for both inshore and offshore anglers. Bentz partnered with Michael Peters Yacht Design and every Caymas saltwater monohull features Peters’ patented Stepped-Vee Ventilated Hull to increase speed and fuel economy by reducing drag and enhancing smoothness. Caymas hulls carry a lifetime warranty, and each boat gets an 86-point check before shipping out.
Caymas 44 CT
Newest and largest in the Caymas line-up, the 44 CT brings what the company calls “a whole new dimension” of performance and luxury to the catamaran market.
The massive boat features semi-asymmetric double-stepped hulls and a 12-foot beam to create stability, efficiency and superior handling.
Its 1,000-gallon fuel capacity allows for long range, while a draft of just 25 inches means it’s at home in shallow water, too.
Aiming at a perfect combination of functionality and relaxation, the 44 CT features plush chaise-lounge seating, and two rows of captain’s chairs at the helm. U-shaped seating in the bow is optional.
The 44 CT is designed for fishing, with a pair of 60-gallon transom livewells, and in-floor livewells/fish boxes of another 60 gallons each. Amidship and forward in-floor fish boxes provide 190 gallons of storage space each. A coffin box contains 210 gallons of insulated storage (and, like the gunwales, it is lined with rod holders) and that’s not all—there’s a 14-gallon cooler/pitch well and a 136-quart mezzanine cooler. Beyond that, the 44 CT is fully customizable to match your style and fishing needs. Among generous options are Release six-rod holders, Gemlux 22-foot outriggers, triple Garmin MFDs and with full Garmin electronics suite including radar, FLIR fixed-mount marine camera and Sunbright LED light bars.
An aft bait prep station supports rod holders and makes a fine work surface.
Quad engine choices for the 44 CT include Mercury 425 or 500R Verados, or Yamaha 450 XTOs.
Editor’s Tip
With 1,000 gallons of fuel on board, no canyon is out of reach. The 12-foot beam creates a stable fishing platform and you can run all the way up to the bow with no step to trip you up. Quite simply, this cat is built for hardcore offshore fishing! -Charlie Levine
