Q I fish the Delta near San Francisco for stripers and wonder if there is an advantage to using a monofilament line?
I have fished the Delta several times with Dan Blanton but only in the fall. At that time a fast sinking line, such as a Teeny 300 or lead-core head, was most effective. We often fished in more than 12 feet of water, and stripers like to stay rather deep most of the time. I would think a mono line would offer little advantage.
