David Townsend wants to fish the beach:

I'm going to Tulum (Yucatán area of Mexico) in late April. I've fished for bonefish and permit at Boca Paila on two different occasions, but I wondered if I might find any other species on the beach side?

In April and May, snook often cruise the shorelines early and late in the day. I’ve caught some dandies with flies, especially near dark. Occasionally ‘cuda roam inshore, as do small sharks. But it’s either feast or famine. If the fish are cruising the beach (usually early or late when light is low), you can do well. If they aren’t, you won’t. The bay side, where you have previously fished, offers more consistent fishing.
