We had the chance to attend the kickoff of the 37th. Annual Don Hawley Invitational Tarpon Tournament last week, and 22 competing teams had the weather gods on their side as Tropical Storm Barry decided to hightail it out of the area. During the kickoff, we had the chance to catch up with some old friends, including FFSW contributor Andy Mill, Sandy Moret of Florida Keys Outfitters and capts. Paul Tijera, Eric Herstedt and Billy Knowles. Going into day 4 of the event, Mill has only released one fish thus far. In the lead is David Dalu with nine releases on 12-pound tippet. Not far behind is Bert Scherb with five fish on 12-pound. Stay tuned for more, coming up.
