Lower Laguna Madre, South Texas Coast

conditions improving

Hello everyone, About 4 days ago the Lower Laguna Madre area experienced a horrificly severe thunderstorm that dumped 10-12 inches of rain in about 3-4 hours. It was accompanied with winds up to 50 miles/per hour. The bay took a beating but is slowing clearing so those of us who love sight-fishing have had a tough go of it for a while. I had a charter today and with overcast skies and light breezes we had some great tailing redfish action for about 3 hours. Unfortunately none of the flies prestented by my guests found the business end of the fish so no hook action happened. Maybe tommorrow. Thank you Capt. Jim Blackiburn
