Fishing Report – 10/15/2010
The last few days here in the 10k you could see the telltale circular clouds of hurricane Paula as it passed over Cuba. Our weather was surprisingly nice with moderate winds and some great fishing. The clouds made for some tougher sight fishing but we were still able to find some nice reds, snook and tarpon this week.
Yesterday I fished Jacob Anderson from Denmark on his first saltwater trip to the Everglades. We were able to find some nice tarpon first thing in the morning and he had four takes and a hooked a nice 40-50lb fish that came unbuttoned on the first jump. Jail Bait in pumpkin and chartreuse was the fly.
We had a great outgoing tide in the afternoon and found both redfish and snook on the outside points. Jacob landed two nice reds in the mid 20’s and two smaller snook on the first two points that we fished. We are seeing some larger redfish as our water cools off a bit. The fly of choice was a 10k Baitfish in size 1/0.
We will keep you posted,
Capt. Bill Baldus
