Volvo Penta receives fifth consecutive Customer Satisfaction Award

Marine industry recognizes Volvo Penta in the Sterndrive Engines category

Volvo Penta is honored to have received its fifth consecutive National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) CSI Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for the 2008 program year.  The only award winner in the Sterndrive Engines category,  Volvo Penta was recognized as having achieved and maintained an independently-measured standard of excellence of 90 percent or higher in customer satisfaction based on information provided by consumers purchasing a new boat or engine during the period between April 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008. Participating manufacturers must survey all new boat buyers during this period. For this reporting period, more than 66,000 consumer responses were collected.

NMMA President Thomas Dammrich will present the award to Volvo Penta of the Americas President Clint Moore at the Annual International Boatbuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) Industry Breakfast in Miami, FL in October, 2008. The CSI awards highlight commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as well as support of industry efforts to improve the consumer boating experience.

“New innovative sterndrive product technology, such as Volvo Penta’s Electronic Vessel Control, has dramatically raised the customer’s experience in terms of quality, reliability and control” said Moore.

“Second, our independent OEM customers are integral helping us win this prestigious award for the fifth straight year, thanks to their attention to detail in the application and installation of our products.”

Moore concluded “most important are our dealers who are on the front lines of safe guarding and ensuring our mutual customer satisfaction.  Without them, this award would not be possible.”

The spirit of the NMMA CSI Award Program is to elevate the importance of customer satisfaction and recognize industry best practices that result in improved boating experiences.
