Ryan Izquierdo spent four days pushing the limits of the Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra across Pensacola’s diverse waters—from quiet inshore flats and bridge pilings to 30 miles offshore in the Gulf. Over 300 miles later, his team had battled everything from calm backwater drifts to open-ocean swells while fishing for everything from black drum and flounder to a giant kingfish and bull redfish.
Throughout the adventure, one tool proved indispensable: the ICOM M94D VHF Radio. Mounted on the ski, the M94D kept Ryan in constant communication—calling out “fish on!” to nearby team boats and, just as importantly, providing immediate access to the Coast Guard at the push of a button if conditions turned dangerous.
The waterproof, floating M94D also kept the crew updated on changing weather and ensured a reliable lifeline as they drifted bridge pylons, skimmed the flats, and trolled offshore with the Jet Ski’s unmatched agility and speed.
In the end, the trip did more than test Pensacola’s fisheries. It proved how critical dependable communication is when your adventure takes you beyond the shoreline—and how the M94D delivers the confidence to explore farther, fish harder, and stay connected when it counts most.
