When I go tuna fishing, I always like to run some weight in the trolling line to get my lure nice and deep, but I found that the two- to five-pound cigar lead I used spooked the fish. To keep from missing strikes, I slip a pink or red octopus skirt on the line, and slide it over the lead. The skirt not only conceals the cigar weight, but it also works as a teaser. Sometimes I add a rattler to make a little extra noise.
