Red-Light District

red_light.jpg

I used to get blinded by bright flashlights when night fishing. Instead of going out and buying a special red-lensed flashlight, I bought a roll of rose-colored plastic wrap and covered the head of my flashlight. I can make it brighter or dimmer by varying the number of layers of wrap covering the lens. Start with one layer, and if the light is still too bright, fold it over to double the thickness. Add as many layers as you want. In addition to coloring the lens, my light is more water-resistant because I wrapped the entire light. If the lens gets dirty from slime or blood, replace the wrap and you’re ready to go.
