Recreational Boat Losses from Hurricanes Total $680 Million

Recreational boaters from Louisiana to Florida’s Atlantic Coast and as far north as the Great Lakes sustained damage from the 2004 hurricane season totaling $680 million according to the Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatU.S.). The individual storms produced the following losses for recreational boaters:

Hurricane Charley: $130 million
 
Hurricane Frances: $300 million
 
Hurricane Ivan: $150 million
 
Hurricane Jeanne: $100 million
