Quick Tease

For an easier way to remove and reload soft-plastic shad onto an umbrella rig and to simplify storage and transport, I run a small loop of monofilament through the head of each shad. With an upholstery needle, thread a two-inch piece of mono through the head, just in front of the eyes. Crimp the mono with a sleeve to form a 1/2-inch loop. Lastly, push the crimp sleeve into the head to keep the mono from tearing the shad – an improvement on the swivel snaps generally used.
