Those smelly fish attractants work well on my plugs and rubber lures, but I didn’t use them all the time because the smell got into my fingers, clothes and boat – until I found a better way to apply them. I got a 1″ foam brush from the craft store and an old 35 mm film canister. I drilled a hole in the lid of the canister that was just the right size to allow me to push the handle of the brush through, yet formed a tight seal around the handle. I trimmed the handle of the brush so it sticks out just an inch, loaded the brush with attractant and I’m ready to go. I’ve found that one well-loaded brush lasts a whole day of plugging.
