No More Blues Blues

Getting into a bluefish blitz is great but inevitably, when I’m fighting one fish, another slams the chunk of bait that has worked its way up the line, resulting in lost fish and terminal gear. I put an end to that with a wire wrap. I first clamp a hook in a vise so the shank and eye stick out about an inch. With two pairs of pliers, I take two tight wraps around the shank of the hook with a 11/2-inch piece of 120-pound wire. I wrap from the middle of the wire, so a half-inch tag sticks out perpendicularly from the shank of the hook. Voil¿¿! No more lost rigs.
