Team Oh Well from Langhorne, PA won the 8th Annual South Jersey Marina Big Bass Open in Cape May, NJ on Saturday November 1st. This is the 1st tournament win for Team Oh Well in the ASA/Mercury Striper Tournament Series. Team Oh Well fishing a 26 foot Regulator weighed a 45.65 and 35.10 striper for an 80.75 winning total.
The 45.65 striper was the largest fish caught in the tournament. Capt. Paul Zgalich’s winning’s for the tournament came to $6982.
Team Cheap Shot from Union Beach, NJ placed 2nd with a 73.60 total which included the 2nd biggest fish of the tournament at 45.25 pounds. Team Cheap Shot and Captain Harry Svenson fishing a 34 foot Mercury powered Fountain won $3268.
Capt. Jamie Diller from Avalon, NJ and Team Little Lady fishing a 1977 31 foot Bertram placed 3rd with a 72.75 pound total including a 40.15 pound Striper Bass. Team Little Lady took home $1505.
4th went to Captain Matt Unsworth on Team Mod Squad fishing a 25 foot Contender. Capt. Unsworth from Ocean View, NJ took home $1,175 with his 67.55 pound total.
In 5th, Team Phoebe Lynn and Capt. Chris Hill from Woodbury, NJ fishing a 33 foot Contender won $940 with a 67.10 total.
Rounding out the top ten were Team Exile with 65.15 won $352.50. Team Just Released 64.90 won $470. Team Reel Life III 63.75 won $423. Team Riverfront Sportfishing fishing a 26 foot Northcoast weighed 60.40 and won $940 in the 26 and under division. Team Rockin Robin placed 10th with a 60.05 total won $392. The Bunker award for this tournament went to Team Insufishent Funds for the lowest weighing fish at 13.70 pounds. The standing for the rest of the 47 boat field can be found on fishasa.com.
