Many anglers flock to Southwest Florida’s well-known fishing spots, such as Boca Grande, Sanibel and Fort Myers. Yet, nestled at the northern tip of Pine Island lies Bokeelia, a quiet, under-the-radar town. Its expansive grass flats, mangrove mazes, and residential docks offer exceptional fishing without the crowds. Creators Brent Schirmer and Tyler Wald spent several days at Tarpon Lodge, fishing from their new Mako 18 Pro Skiff (Backwater Edition) in pursuit of an early spring inshore slam. Despite challenging winds, they used topwater lures and soft plastic swimbaits on jigheads, successfully landing snook, speckled seatrout, and redfish.

Tyler Wald is a full-time content creator born and raised in Miami, Florida. Tyler has known from the age of 5 that fishing is his undeniable passion. Brent Schirmer is a content creator based in Tampa Bay, Florida. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2018, then moved back to the Tampa Bay Area and began filming his fishing and camping trips. Almost 5 years and over 300 videos on YouTube later, Brent focuses on high quality, educational videos for inshore and offshore saltwater fishing for fishermen of all skill-sets and experience.
