Captain Bill Delabar and mate Scott Hunter were fishing for tuna with anglers Phil Weaver and Jon Alles aboard Delabar’s 32-foot Twin Vee Impulse out of Venice, Louisiana. After a slow morning, they spotted a school of mullet getting hit and figured the pelagics were feeding. They began throwing lures only to have four large yellowfin tuna spit or straighten the hook. Delabar then cast a popper that drew immediate interest, but instead of a yellowfin, he hooked a 250-pound blue marlin. Brought to the boat in about 30 minutes by Alles and Weaver, the fish was revived after another 20 minutes and released. For more information, visit www.frenzytackle.com.
