When trolling, I’ve found that the three-inch stock handle on most reels is too small when I’m cranking against a 20-pound yellowtail. I switched over to a rockcod handle and haven’t lost a fish since. It gives me more leverage and allows me to bring in fish twice as fast; I’ve brought in 30-pound albacore without stopping.
