It’s tough to beat a comfortable sneaker – unless, of course, you’re wearing a comfortable sandal. Yes, the choice can be tricky, but now Sperry Top-Sider has a new hybrid that’s part shoe and part sandal, and the company has cleverly dubbed its mutant footwear the Ventus Shandal. All of the mesh and linings in the Shandal are breathable and waterproof. It is more robust than a sandal but still much lighter than a shoe. The trademarked outsole of Hydro-Grip rubber and Quadro-Grip Multidirectional Wave siping gives anglers a comfortable, nonmarking sole that’s ideal for both wet and dry surfaces. Sperry recommends that, when purchasing the Ventus Shandal, you get them in a half-size smaller than your normal shoe size. Retail price is $120. For more information, visit www.sperrytopsider.com.
