E-Z Out-Rodder

It's a must-have for wire-line trollers

Extracting a wire-line trolling rod from an out-rodder can be a backbreaking, tedious and sometimes dangerous tug of war, especially if you’re trolling at 3 mph in sporty seas with a 35-pound striped bass hooked up. The EZ Out-Rodder eliminates the fight against the rod. Designed by Jersey striper expert Tony “Maja” Arcabascio, the marine-grade aluminum EZ Out-Rodder is built with a lockable hinge consisting of a removable stainless-steel pin that allows the angler to unlock the out-rodder and pivot it toward the boat, where it locks in place vertically, allowing for easy rod extraction. A short length of nylon-coated stainless cable is also attached to a pin so the rod cannot fall overboard, and a gimbal lock system in the base secures the unit in the gunwale. It’s a must-have for wire-line trollers. $199; www.ezoutrodder.com
