Daiwa’s New Sealines

After 23 years, Daiwa has expanded its popular Sealine family of conventional reels by adding 2 new models. The 40HSD and the 50HSD both feature Daiwa’s Super Drag system, which brings 10 Teflon/graphite composite and stainless-steel discs to bear when it comes time to put the brakes on big fish. Other features include 2 sealed stainless-steel ball bearings; one-piece, anodized-aluminum frame; machine-cut bronze and stainless-steel gears; anodized-aluminum spool and sideplates; and a loud, reliable clicker. The 40HSD weighs 19.9 oz. and holds 470 yrds. of 20 lb. test, while the 50HSD weighs 21 oz. and holds 600 yrds. of 20 lb. test. Both reels have a 4.2:1 gear ratio and retail for $95.95.
