Avet Industries recently unveiled its new 4/0 single-speed, lever-drag reel. The EX 4/01 has a 4:1 high-speed gear ratio. Frame, sideplates and spool are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum stock, then hard-anodized in silver, gold, black, metallic-gray or navy-blue finishes for superior corrosion resistance. Interior features include stainless-steel gears, 6 ball bearings and the powerful AveDrag system, which incorporates a dual-caliper, pre-set mechanism, a carbon-fiber drag washer and a titanium drag plate. A special spool-locking feature allows for mid-battle, pre-set drag adjustments, plus the drag can be set at 20 lbs. of pressure while maintaining full free-spool for live-baiting. Other important features include an automatic clicker-disengage system, an oversized handle and cast control for preventing backlashes.
